Winner Update: Blessings in a Backpack
In case you don’t remember, you generously gave us $23,300.00. Wahoo! That means that 233 children are ensured hunger free weekends and school breaks for the entire school year. Yeah. We’re on track to begin this school year, feeding 2,000 children in 15 schools and that is tenfold in three and a half years. Last year, 220 volunteers, averaging about 75 a week, packed over 600,000 items of food into 57,000 weekend backpacks. So, if anybody who was working at that feels tired, now you know why. From the bottom of my heart and on behalf of the children, we really appreciate this.
