The Great Equalizer

Five Minutes and A Microphone

Like in business competing against Google, it can be damn hard for a local charity to compete against large charities. Who are established. Who have armies of evangelists. And marketing budgets and production teams, that house world-class marketers and copywriters.

At Impact Club, though, that is not the case.

The playing field is leveled.

Like a standup comedian who must win the room, Impact Club presenters are armed with only a microphone. No additional handouts or flyers. No additional support materials. No stage props or previously produced videos.

Just 5 minutes each. (time reminders given)

One stage.

And a microphone to win the hearts and minds of Impact Club members, through the power of their built StoryEngine. There are no politics. No playing favorites. And no creative offers (made by the presenters) are allowed either. It all comes down to the power of the story, and how deeply it resonates. As mentioned, the StoryEngine drives the cause. Impact Club is an organization committed to incentivizing local charities to build their StoryEngine. Otherwise, fundraising (to fund the impact charities wish to make) will forever be difficult.

So, the rules are simple:

3 Charities. (winner takes all)

5 Minutes Each.

The best “StoryEngine” will likely win.

Ryan Fletcher
Co-Founder, CEO, Head of Community

After 47 rejections from medical school, Fletcher realized his failure. He couldn’t inspire the admissions committee. This painful lesson, having never gotten accepted, led him on a journey to discover how words could be used to inspire. As a storyteller, he launched businesses, transformed businesses. Built communities. Then shared what he learned with others. Impact Club, working with those he collaborated with, got its genesis from that decade long journey. Now, to the best of his ability, Fletcher represents the interests of his co-founders and thousands of Impact Club members around the world.
