Boise: Donates $15,000
Through Impact Club, as Impact Venture Capitalists, we invest heavily in local charities that demonstrate a powerful “Story Engine,” and have proven their willingness to fight for their cause – by competing in and winning a high-stakes competition. As a result, Impact Club, through Impact Venture Capitalism has dramatically multiplied the Impact that a single person can have on charities in their local community.
The Charities
Founded in 2001, Chrysalis Women’s Transitional Living responds to the overwhelming needs of women coming out of incarceration, addiction, abuse and homelessness who are seeking a new way to live. Chrysalis is an environment where women take the necessary steps away from their former destructive lifestyles, toward independence, healing and freedom, through transitional living, support, accountability, structure and safety. Women coming out of these situations are in great need not only for a place to live, but also for a home where they can heal and begin a new life that they can be proud of.
The Man Up Crusade is a non-profit organization, established in Idaho, whose mission is to reduce domestic violence in society and contribute to social change by promoting safe and healthy relationships through education, advocacy and funding community services and programs that share in our mission. Domestic violence is an epidemic in society and a public health and safety concern: 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men are victims in our society. The Man Up Crusade comes to town, creates awareness and solidarity, raises money and then moves on to the next town/event to Take A Stand and Break the Cycle.
Because International believes in the power of innovation to help those challenged by poverty. We focus on practical compassion – small things that make a BIG difference. This is exemplified in our first project – an adjustable shoe called The Shoe That Grows. It is a durable, simple shoe that grows five sizes and lasts up to five years. We have distributed over 100,000 pairs of The Shoe That Grows to kids in over 90 countries. But now we are focused on the local need for kids in the Treasure Valley who struggle having sustainable, solid footwear. We are employing local refugees to hand-make our shoes here in Boise.
