Item 1 + Item 2 = Experiment

“Impact Venture Capitalists”

Morning Team,

#1 – Between May 14th and 15th, in just 2 days, nearly $45K was donated to three local charities. (OooRah!)

And #2 – I want to conduct an experiment.

Most of you know of me. But maybe don’t know me personally, very well. So I want to share something with you. To be more specific, I want to share 5 stories that I recently wrote:

“Designing my own Religion…”

“Not my finest moment…”

“How vs. who…”

“Have you no boundaries?…”

“What my life was missing…”

Did you read them?

My question is, how did they shift your perspective about me? Did it bring you closer to me? Or did they push you away? Either way, keep in mind, is fine. That is why we share stories…

So that we can attract and repel people.

Simple stories like these are what have enabled me to build multiple businesses, and an income, to be able to fund ImpactClub® without taking on any outside venture partners.

Simple stories like these are how I “sell” my ideas, beliefs, convictions…

Simple stories like these are how I build audiences, armies…

Simple stories like these are how I inspire…

Simple stories like these are how I secure new clients, and, if I were a charitable founder, funds.

Everybody loves a great story.

But so few know how to write them, to serve their defined objective(s).

As I was writing the other day, at my favorite little coffee shop – not Starbucks. I saw this new college graduate putting together her resume. I asked how it was going? She said, no luck…

I looked at her resume, and god, it was so boring.

So standard…

So blah… because it sounded just like every other resume I have ever looked at, and read. And I’ve read hundreds, as I am actively, at all times, searching for talent that believes in our mission.

But her resume would have just blended in.

Nothing special.

Ordinary.

What makes a person special, different, and standout? (Are their stories.)

ImpactClub® is about inspiring people to develop, craft, tell, and to understand the power of their stories. The world is aching for authentic people, to be real, and most of all, to go first.

Rebecca, I’m damn proud of you!

Heather wrote me the other day:

  • I took on the challenge of the IOD’s and have enjoyed them. What I had no idea of, was the feedback I would get from people. It has been amazing. I explained it to my daughter like this. Telling my stories, and posting for the world to see is kind of like standing in front of a room of people, naked, and giving a speech. I know what I want to say, I am well versed in it….but fear takes over – I overthink it. What if this person gets upset? What if I offend other people? What if people think I am stupid? Then I decided, “F*ck it and did it.” It was liberating. Thanks!

Mind. Body. Business. Relationships.

So start publishing – send me a friend request – I want to read your stories!

Keep inspiring,
