Hospice of North Idaho

Hospice of North Idaho is our communities only non-profit hospice providing end of life care, education and comfort in Kootenai, Shoshone and Benewah Counties. We own and operate the only inpatient hospice house in the state, Schniedmiller House. Most Americans wish to remain in their own home as they pass through the end of life, Hospice of North Idaho facilitates this wish. We provide a team of certified professionals coupled with a volunteer force of over 100 offering Pet Therapy, massage therapy, and companionship. We care for newborns to those over 100 years. We work with each patient and family to develop their own plan of care and provide education as well as peace and compassion. When pain or symptoms become too much in the home, a patient can transfer to the Schneidmiller House until they are comfortable and can return home. We are the leading source of end of life education and provide services not offered by any other agencies such as our kid’s camp, where children who have lost a loved one experience camp and learn ways to deal with grief. We provide over 120 support groups each year as well as follow up bereavement for 13 months.
