Through Impact Club, as Impact Venture Capitalists, we invest heavily in local charities that demonstrate a powerful “Story Engine,” and, have proven their willingness to fight for their cause – by competing in and winning, a high-stakes competition. As a result, Impact Club, through Impact Venture Capitalism, has dramatically multiplied the Impact that a single person can have on charities in their local community.
The Charities
The Healing Journey a trauma recovery center was founded in April 2011 out of a gap in services for victims of trauma. Estrella Fitch left her position, as a victim advocate for the County Attorney is Office and filed the paper work needed to start a non-profit. The goal has been to provide the tools necessary in healing for past or present trauma. During this journey, the realization of youth and children who did not receive counseling, life skills were at risk for falling into the juvenile justice system.
United Way of Yuma County is a local organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty for Yuma residents. It was first formed in 1944 and is staffed today by 3 local community members. Every day, United Way strives to be more than just a band-aid solution. United Way of Yuma County is committed to equipping individuals with the tools they need to address the root causes of poverty.
Precious Treasures Mission has been serving families in Yuma County for over 29 years. The organization has seen countless lives changed through the services provided for youth, and the families we serve in our community. The services provided range from providing an after-school program providing free tutoring and support for youth at our youth center, to providing furniture, clothing, household items, food boxes, school uniforms, school supplies, to scholarships to children pursing higher education.
