Tri-Town Donates $4,400.00

Through ImpactClub®, as Impact Venture Capitalists, we invest heavily in local charities that demonstrate a powerful “Story Engine” and have proven their willingness to fight for their cause – by competing in and winning a high-stakes competition. As a result, ImpactClub®, through Impact Venture Capitalism, has dramatically multiplied the Impact that a single person can have on charities in their local community.

Mommy’s Haven
Lauren Mauk
Empowering Women

am the founder of Mommy’s Haven. We are a maternity home that opened this past January in Lowell IN. We were full within the first month of opening. I used to volunteer at a crisis pregnancy center and this is where my eyes were open to the need in our area. Mommy’s Haven empowers and equips pregnant women seeking parenting options by providing physical, emotional and spiritual support during and after pregnancy. We will welcome women, ages 18 and over, who are pregnant and have nowhere to turn. We offer single pregnant women, with no means of support, the opportunity to choose life for their unborn baby, whether they decide to parent or adopt. God has called us to respond to this need by providing a safe, free-of-charge, home to women who are feeling helpless and hopeless while facing an unexpected pregnancy.

Sojourner Truth House
Sister Peg Spindler, CSA
One Woman, One family at a Time

Sojourner Truth House is a 22-year-old Day Center sponsored by the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ. Our mission is to help homeless and at-risk women and their children by providing hospitality, advocacy, integrative services and collaboration in a safe, trusting environment. We also have a pantry for all Gary residents and a women’s closet both open three days a week. Over 2000 people are helped each month. Our case management services work with women from their stay in the three shelters with which we partner through their being housed. Because there is not enough affordable housing and because there are so many issues and barriers for them, it takes a while to help our clients achieve our common goal–stable housing. If they allow us, we continue to work with them until that is achieved and beyond. Because our classes and case management services are so intense, lives are transformed. One client stated, ” When I say they changed my life, I mean they changed my life.” This woman now holds a full-time job and manages a local shelter. We take steps to end homelessness, one woman, one family at a time.
