The Charities
Fifty years ago, ACTS’ founders began by addressing the most basic human needs of food and shelter. They established Prince William County’s first food bank, set up a used furniture distribution system, and developed a homeless shelter in local churches.
We provide therapeutic riding and equine-assisted therapy to children and adults with physical, intellectual, developmental, and behavioral challenges. We don’t only touch lives but we change lives one hoofbeat at a time.
Housing is important to the well-being and health of families. Without adequate housing, families have trouble managing their daily lives. Families without income or enough money to cover vital needs, such as food, health, or utilities, are at risk for other crises.
