Boise: Donates $11,500

Through Impact Club, as Impact Venture Capitalists, we invest heavily in local charities that demonstrate a powerful “Story Engine,” and have proven their willingness to fight for their cause – by competing in and winning a high-stakes competition. As a result, Impact Club, through Impact Venture Capitalism has dramatically multiplied the Impact that a single person can have on charities in their local community.

The Charities

Women’s and Children’s Alliance
Beatrice Black
Freedom From Assault & Abuse

At the Women’s and Children’s Alliance (WCA) we provide safety, healing and freedom from domestic abuse and sexual assault. All our services are provided at no charge to those most vulnerable in our community who have suffered the trauma of physical, emotional, sexual or psychological abuse at the hands of someone who many times has professed to love them. Our services include 24 hour hotlines, safe shelter, court advocacy, counseling, case management, licensed childcare and a host of life skills and parenting classes.

The Closet
Kelly McMurry
Free Clothing To Teens

The Closet is set up to provide FREE clothing to teens in need. Teens are referred to The Closet by Ada County middle and high school counselors, juvenile corrections, homeless shelters, and word of mouth. The Closet was founded in 2010 by Kelly McMurry and her desire to give back to the community.  To date, 3000 teens have shopped at The Closet. Each teen is provided a one-hour private and confidential appointment where they can shop and pick out the clothes they like. The clothing is donated by the community with an increasing number of retailers partnering to provide NEW items.

Advocates Against Family Violence
Alyssa Cromwell
Empowering Individuals

Advocates Against Family Violence works to eliminate domestic violence in families and homes by empowering individuals to make positive life choices through advocacy, support, education, affordable housing, awareness and community involvement. As most of this is entirely out of our control, our mission statement is very bold. Through the education and support programs offered to victims, we are changing lives every day. We serve Canyon County and over 500,000 individuals in the surrounding communities. Through restoring Hope, encouraging Healing and helping those we serve discover their true Strength.
