Camp River Run

Camp River Run is a non-profit dedicated to helping children who are suffering from life-threatening illness or disabling medical conditions. It was founded in 2007 and conducted its first camp in 2008 and it has been delighting & empowering children who are suffering from life-threatening illness or disabling medical conditions ever since. These camps are not a vacation for campers, they are instead a potentially life changing experience where the stress of these children’s daily lives is forgotten for a few days and a shared sense of struggle brings the children close together in a powerful bonding experience. Often the camp also delivers a much needed break for the parents who may not have had a single day free from stress and anxiety since the day they learned of their child’s diagnosis. Our Camp provides a safe fun environment for these children who’s condition has a large and ongoing impact on their lives. The camp is also a powerful positive influence in the lives of their parents or guardians many of who’s daily life has an ever present feeling of impending crisis. To ensure these children remain safe the camp offers professional medical care during their medically supervised camp experience.
