The Village Method

The Village Method seeks to create a united community that is invested in the success of its youth and families. We believe in maximizing the resources within our community, engaging families and empowering children to achieve social, academic and economic success. Focusing on Union City, California and southern Alameda County, we work to overcome the challenges that prevent African American students from achieving their full potential and provide pipeline for students to progress to college, careers and back to their community. As the African proverb says, “It takes a village to raise a child and a community to keep the parents sane.” We are working to create that village within the San Francisco Bay area by connecting African American youth and families with local businesses, government, cultural institutions, support services and each other.
