The Cookeville Rescue Mission

The Cookeville Rescue Mission is the oldest and largest rescue mission in the Upper Cumberland, whose purpose and pledge are to serve our homeless and vulnerable neighbors through a program of spiritual, physical, material and emotional assistance; coupled with education and public awareness. For 43 years, Cookeville Rescue Mission has provided emergency, temporary shelter, hot meals, clothing, hot showers, emergency dental care and spiritual guidance for those in need. Cookeville Rescue Mission operates two residential shelters plus a chapel, general store, salon and dental clinic. Services are available to men, women and families at no charge. In addition, Cookeville Rescue Mission operates Step Upward Farm, a seven-acre farm, providing long term transitional assistance to help men transform their lives. We believe that lives can be transformed and filled with hope as our community works together to fight homelessness, poverty and addiction.
