Springfield Education Foundation (SEF)

Every student has potential. Every student deserves the tools necessary to grow. SEF aims to empower student success by connecting a caring community to the most effective, urgent, and impactful programs in Springfield schools that leave a lasting impact on all and change the trajectory of many. As a district with over 65% of students living in poverty (some schools are 85%!) and about 500 students who are currently housing insecure, we realize that education is often the great equalizer. By keeping students engaged and captivated by the endless possibilities of their education, we can slowly but surely increase graduation rates, increase productivity, and end the cycle of poverty at the most fundamental level. We are investing in a wide range of learning opportunities including Career and Technical Education that provides students with real-world experience in their field of interest. We also support fundamentals such as literacy, basic needs, STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics), civics, outdoor and health education and more. If it keeps Springfield students engaged, serves underserved populations, increases graduation and attendance rates, and prepares students for a bright and successful future, we want to be part of it. We hope you do too.
