Thessalonika Family Services

Rancho Damacitas Children & Family Services is a nonprofit organization serving children, teens and young adults with a history of child abuse, neglect, and abandonment. Founded in 1983, the organization offers eight comprehensive programs targeting the greatest needs of foster youth, and addressing significant gaps in support as they transition from the dependency system into independent adulthood at age 18. The organization consists of a unique family-style residential campus for youth ages 6-18 keeping them safe, intensive therapy to help them heal, enrichment and educational activities to help them grow, and continued transitional support for those over 18 (including housing, scholarships, and coaching) to help them thrive. Serving an average of 100 youth annually, 75% of the children served develop the coping and behavioral tools necessary to successfully maintain a long-term, stable placement within a foster family. Additionally, over the past five years, 100% of college scholarship recipients have graduated or promoted to the next level. Thanks to a supportive community, Rancho Damacitas continues to help foster youth move beyond their painful pasts and grow into self-sufficient, contributing members of our community.
