L.I.F.E. Food Pantry

L.I.F.E. Food Pantry serves clients of the Loveland School District and members of supporting congregations. Approximately 500 people receive assistance monthly; a week’s food is given each time, based on family size. Clients choose items from a grocery list updated daily. The Pantry is too small to be a “choice” pantry, meaning they would shop for themselves—instead, we fill the order. In addition, we provide Financial Assistance for rent, utilities, and medical bills/prescriptions; maximum $200 yearly. July is registration for all clients for use of the pantry and holiday programs. August is Student L.I.F.E. Shop—ages Pre-K-12th grade choose a backpack filled w/ school supplies, SpiritWear clothing, undergarments, personal care items, and coupons for new shoes and haircuts. November is Holiday Basket’s—a complete Thanksgiving meal plus a gift card to for meat of their choice. December has two events—a holiday food basket and the Giving Shop. Clients select gifts for their family at no cost. The L.I.F.E. Board consists of members of supporting congregations—all work is performed by volunteers except two minor stipend positions. We are supported by community donations and grants—no federal or state funding. A hand up, not a hand out.
