Kaleidoscope Community Services, Inc.

Kaleidoscope Community Services (KCS) is a grassroots ‘Peoples Nonprofit’ that connects community resources with community needs. Since 2013, generous donors have empowered KCS volunteers and collaborative partner organizations to help those of meager means rebuild their lives while also helping them with basic life necessities like food, gear, hygiene products, and warm support and encouragement. This work is being done through our downtown outreach center, the 2nd Street Commons (405 N. 2nd Street, CDA). The 2nd Street Commons is open Monday through Friday 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Saturday 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM. Along with these basic services, KCS hosts a program called ‘Friends Helping Friends’ (FHF) where we mentor and help homeless persons looking to move forward in life. KCS also employs a ‘Certified Peer Support Specialist’ who works directly with persons in the FHF program, who understands what they’re going through and is able to furnish them with the tools they need to turn their lives around. In the last 5 years, our donors have helped KCS and our partners provide over 50,000 services to the broken and poor, delivered by over 450 volunteers from over 40 different churches and community organizations.
