Since 1979, Exceptional Equestrians Unlimited, Inc.’s (EEU) mission has been to provide educational and therapeutic horseback riding activities to those with special needs of all ages for an improved quality of life utilizing professional instructors and trained volunteers in a safe and secure environment. Horseback riding has been widely recognized as one of the most beneficial forms of therapeutic recreation. Benefits include improvement in self-esteem; balance; self-confidence; coordination; social interaction; muscle tone; learning skills; and posture. Through the union of horse and rider, individuals with special needs reach their highest potential, thus making a difference in their lives and the lives of others. To further this aim, in 1986 EEU became an affiliate member of the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH), accreditation and licensing system designed to improve the well-being of therapeutic equine professionals. The Premier Accredited Center Program that PATH offers allow centers the chance to demonstrate their excellence in providing quality, professional equine-assisted activities. This voluntary process certifies that PATH centers have met established industry standards. We are a non-profit, 501(c)(3) charity, governed by a volunteer board of directors, and welcome any/all support!
