Amberly’s Place Family Advocacy Center

Amberly’s Place Family Advocacy Center houses a team of professionals who respond to child abuse both physical/ sexual, domestic violence, sexual assault and elder abuse throughout Yuma County. Crisis response advocates are dispatched to respond on-scene with local law enforcement to insure that victims receive trauma support from the first report. The perpetrator is normally a family member or a family friend making reporting difficult. Advocates support the victim to reduce trauma, guide them through the criminal justice system and stop victim blaming from the start. Victims are brought back to the Center for their forensic interview and forensic medical exam in a warm nurturing environment by trained professionals. Each victim has their own specific emergency needs, emergency shelter, food, clothing, windows repaired, new door locks, emergency therapy by a licensed professional school supplies, medication etc. These needs are met by donations and send a message “We Care About You!” This non-profits’ goal is to help victims become survivors, to thrive to their potential. Over 2000 victims reach out each year for help. No victim is ever turned away, there is no cost for our services. Together we CAN make a difference, join our team and be the difference.
