My Nightmare Last Night.

“Impact Venture Capitalists!”

Morning Team…

So last night I woke up terrified. I had this dream. It’s not the first time I had this dream either. It seems to repeat every few weeks, and every time, I wake up literally in a cold sweat. And it feels so real…

What’s the dream? That an Impact Club has been robbed. That with Impact Club growing and expanding and becoming more well-known, as each local community contributes to the movement that Impact Club has become an easy target for thieves.

Thankfully, this is just a dream. (a nightmare)

Not real.

But having massive amounts of cash in one place: $5,000, $10,000, to as much as $15,000 or more. I know, because I’m a realist, that it’s only a matter of time before an Impact Club is targeted and robbed.

In Yuma, at their very first event, I remember it vividly. Kristan, of Kids CuddleKit Closet, exited into a dark parking lot with almost $14,000 in cash. I insisted on walking her out as I couldn’t help but to imagine the worst.

I’m no body guard.

And frankly, even trying to stop someone with weapon from taking money (which can be replaced) isn’t smart. I’d hate to see the money go. But I’m far more concerned about safety and safe environments.

Convenient stores never have more than a hundred of two hundred in the register for this exact reason – to eliminate the threat before it is likely to happen. They also have surveillance and cameras.

Why rob a 7-11 when you’re only bound to get a hundred bucks? If there were $10,000 in the register, I assure you, you’d see a lot more hits on convenient stores in the next short period of time.

My mission and purpose – is to create a Movement of Impact

To ensure Safety.

And to create an environment where Storytellers are Built and Molded.

Specific to that second part, “safety,” I and my tech team have made steps to eliminate the manual collection of cash and check at the door. If we don’t act sooner, rather than later, it inevitably will end badly.

Having $10,000 in cash in envelope gives me nightmares.

It also makes our co-founders sweat, just having to hold it for that short period of time prior to handing it over to the winning charity. There is just too much risk, too much that could potentially go wrong.

So…

As part of the new Impact Club infrastructure that we have are building, there will be a Personal Profile page where you’ll be able to update your account with a credit card payment, which will be handled by a 3rd party non-profit.

The integration will be seamless.

IT IS ABSOLUTELY NEEDED FOR SAFETY REASONS.

Plus, it will be more convenient for Impact Club members, co-founders, as well as our local charities, who have enough on their plate already without having to issue 100 or 200 individual tax receipts.

With our new system (coming soon) this will all be automated.

Some might not like this.

Some might enjoy just bringing their $100 cash.

I get it.

But massive amounts of cash, with no security, puts everyone in potential danger.

And that is my nightmare.

Every few nights, I wake up in a cold sweat. I can’t do it anymore.

PS: There’s nothing you need to do yet. And I’m probably far more worried about this at this point, than I need to be. But I’d rather be hyper-cautious, vigilant and smart. Than sloth, ignorant and stupid.

When I have more details, you ALL will be the first to know.

Love you!

OUR MEDIA SITE IS ALMOST HERE!

I was going to make a point today about the ‘damaging belief’ that one needs to be perfect before they begin: writing, speaking, publishing, distributing their message, but I think I’ll hold off on that until next week.

I’ll end by saying, my team and I are working hard to input all the data from the previous events.

The media site is just about complete.

It will host all the Event documentaries as well as the Local Talks – bringing greater distribution to these great local charities and their founders. More people absolutely need to hear these stories!

Keep ya updated – as I know more,

-RYAN
