Through ImpactClub®, as Impact Venture Capitalists, we invest heavily in local charities that demonstrate a powerful “Story Engine,” and, have proven their willingness to fight for their cause – by competing in and winning, a high-stakes competition. As a result, ImpactClub®, through Impact Venture Capitalism, has dramatically multiplied the Impact that a single person can have on charities in their local community.
The Charities
Nearly 40% of special needs families report that caring for a loved one prevents them from working. Consequently, thousands of families are wrought with financial hardship, no time, and inadequate resources needed to provide minimum care. Faced with these challenges, many families are forced to make the difficult decisions.
Brigade Boys & Girls Club has been in the “youth development business” in our community for over 120 years. Colonel Walker Taylor first recognized the need for quality youth development services in 1896, when five boys gathered at Immanuel Presbyterian Church for Colonel Taylor’s new club: “The Wilmington Boys’ Brigade.”
Make-A-Wish®Eastern North Carolina has one purpose: to grant wishes to children with critical illnesses between the ages from of 2 1/2 and 18. This one belief guides us in everything we do, inspires us to grant wishes that change the lives of the kids we serve, and drives us to make donated resources go as far as possible.
