IC Virtual: Donates $7,800
Through Impact Club, as Impact Venture Capitalists, we invest heavily in local charities that demonstrate a powerful “Story Engine,” and, have proven their willingness to fight for their cause – by competing in and winning, a high-stakes competition. As a result, Impact Club, through Impact Venture Capitalism, has dramatically multiplied the Impact that a single person can have on charities in their local community.
The Charities
Founded in 1988, Urban Peak is the only non-profit organization in Denver that provides a full convergence of services for youth ages 15 through 24 experiencing homelessness or at imminent risk of becoming homeless. Our goal is to help these youth overcome real life challenges and become self-sufficient adults. We do this by providing five essential services at little or no cost to the youth: an overnight shelter, a daytime Drop-In Center, Street Outreach, Education & Employment programming, and supportive housing.
Clean water is the first step in getting families and communities out of the pattern of extreme poverty. Currently, at least 663 million people lack access to safe drinking water. Living Water International exists to demonstrate the love of God by helping communities acquire desperately-needed clean water through the implementation of participatory, community-based water, sanitation and hygiene solutions in 17 developing countries across Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa and Asia.
The Earth Organization (TEO), was founded in 2003 by world-renowned conservationist and humanitarian, Dr. Lawrence Anthony (“the Elephant Whisperer”), and Barbara Wiseman (international management consultant). The formation of this environmental non-profit was inspired by: 1) his remarkable rescue initiative of the animals and staff in the Baghdad Zoo during the Iraq War; 2) his extraordinary rehabilitation of traumatized, wild elephants on his wildlife preserve in South Africa; and 3) their driving motivation to bring about a healthier, safer world for all life.
