Through ImpactClub®, as Impact Venture Capitalists, we invest heavily in local charities that demonstrate a powerful “Story Engine,” and, have proven their willingness to fight for their cause – by competing in and winning, a high-stakes competition. As a result, ImpactClub®, through Impact Venture Capitalism, has dramatically multiplied the Impact that a single person can have on charities in their local community.
The Charities
The Spanish-Speaking Community of Maryland (SSCM) was founded by Emilio Perche Rivas in 1967. SSCM’s mission is to provide direct services and work with public and private organizations throughout Frederick to ensure the most vulnerable residents are able to receive essential guidance. SSCM strives to empower low-income families and immigrants from diverse backgrounds by promoting self-sufficiency, greater social change, education and legal rights.
The Frederick County 4H Therapeutic Riding Program has been providing horseback riding lessons and equine activities for more than 34 years to Frederick County residents who are diagnosed with mental, physical and/or emotional disabilities. Therapeutic riding is an integral part of or rider’s lives, improving verbal and receptive communication skills, socialization skills, self-confidence, mental and physical well-being, motor skills, and much more.
At the YMCA of Frederick County, strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility is our cause and vision. The Y is the largest childcare provider in Frederick County. Children participate in appropriate educational experiences, field trips, nutritional meals, and health screenings. They also receive limited transportation services, referrals for disability and mental health issues, and school transition services.
