Through ImpactClub®, as Impact Venture Capitalists, we invest heavily in local charities that demonstrate a powerful “Story Engine,” and, have proven their willingness to fight for their cause – by competing in and winning, a high-stakes competition. As a result, ImpactClub®, through Impact Venture Capitalism, has dramatically multiplied the Impact that a single person can have on charities in their local community.
The Charities
Shelter Hope pet shop was founded in 2011. Shelter Hope is designed to alleviate the crowding in shelters while helping families feel comfortable adopting a pet. Shelter Hope animals have been rescued from death row and we are not shy about telling their stories. It is important for the public to know what happens to animals that are overbred or animals that are purchased from pet shops and then discarded like garbage. Veterans as well as challenged individuals and kids needing community service hours including at risk teenagers are able to have a purpose while helping us to re-home animals.
Inspired by a mutual passion to help abandoned, shelter animals in-need, Christina Morgan and Chad Atkins founded Paw Works in Ventura, in January 2014. Paw Works’ initially assisted Ventura County achieve a “No Kill” status, a goal accomplished within the first month of operation. Now in its fourth year, Paw Works, led by Executive Director, Chad Atkins, is the largest animal-rescue, non-profit 501(c)(3) in Ventura County. Working with city and county shelters, over 4,000 abandoned shelter dogs and cats have already been placed in permanent homes.
The Conejo Free Clinic has been serving our community for almost four decades. Our Medical Director, Frank Dawson, M.D. has been with us since 1978. We have over 200 professional volunteers who give of their time because they believe in our mission to see that no one goes without lifesaving care due to financial hardships and life challenges. We help over 3,000 people each year, improving the quality of life and peace of mind of our fellow citizens. We provide Medical, Legal and Dental services to men, women and children, from top notch professionals in the community, all free of charge.
