I’ll Keep This Short.

“Impact Venture Capitalists!”

Hello Team…

Sorry for getting the “5 Impact Friday” out late this week. But I’ll keep this short. Last Monday night, Impact Club Frederick donated the largest Impact Club check to date; at $23,200 to Blessings in a Backpack.

Because of Frederick’s Impact Venture Capitalists – just like you in your community, Impact Club members everywhere – 232 kids will have MEALS for the entire 2017-2018 school year.

“Hunger Doesn’t Take a Day Off.”

So, Congratulations to Frederick!!! That is a huge accomplishment. And congratulations to Hermine Bernstein and her winning StoryEngine that won the heart, minds and support of members.

As Hermine wrote me, in regards to her talk:

“Hi Ryan – Thanks very much for all this wonderful information. Guess I’ll have to rewrite into a “story,” which should be a fun challenge, because unlike the examples it isn’t my personal experience. Super glad it’s not “techs”. Excited about this amazing opportunity. Thank you.”

Re-write she did. And told a great Story!

NOTE: If you’re a member of Impact Club Frederick, and didn’t make the event, please be sure to arrange your donation to be delivered to Eric Verdi, so that he can pass it along to Hermine and Blessing in a Backpack. Impact Club only works, as long as Members uphold their commitment. These 232 Kids are counting us, every one of us, to stand behind that commitment of just $100 donation each quarter.

Upcoming Impact Club Launches:

May 30th – Impact Club Boise

June 1st – Impact Club Eugene

June 12th – Impact Club Fox Cities

June 27th – Impact Club Union City

June 29th – Impact Club Yuma (2nd Event)

Ryan, I’m so happy to have found this movement. I started a giving circle that I was hoping to turn into a ‘generosity movement’ in 2011 out of a desire to magnify my giving. It was a bit of a fledgling attempt, looking back, but our hearts were there and it did stir some compassionate action. The Impact Club looks so well-defined and accessible that I can tell it’s a winning idea whose time has come. Of the 10 core values, the only one I don’t totally relate to is: Relentlessly Competitive.

While I’ve been somewhat internally competitive in my past life, I have cultivated values of Collaboration & Cooperation, and I believe that would be a better core value for this group, which in its essence is all about collaborative giving. (My personal belief is that we need to start re-defining competition in all areas of business if we’re going to evolve to a more team-based culture.)

As we say, “We compete to inspire. Not to defeat.” We all need to be pushed. And teamwork is derived, ultimately, from attempting to achieve a goal or a mission. Against all odds. Against all time-frames.

Being “Internally Competitive” and “competitive for the right reasons” is what that DNA Trait: Relentlessly Competitive is all about. Sora, whether you realize it or not, you’re relentlessly competitive. 🙂

I know because of your comment on Facebook:

“…how many more founders do we need to make it to 100? I’m willing to do some calls to pull us to the goal. Let’s go for 111 (I love magic numbers).”

Thank you Sora!!

Impact Club exists FOR and BECAUSE people like you.

KEEP INSPIRING OTHERS!

By the end of 2017, we will have raised millions to fund local charities.

PS: Encourage everyone you know to learn the Language of Story. If they do, life, business, fundraising, relationships, the attraction of opportunity, clients, money, love, etc. will be much easier for them.
