Loveland Donates: $1,400
Through Impact Club, as Impact Venture Capitalists, we invest heavily in local charities that demonstrate a powerful “Story Engine,” and, have proven their willingness to fight for their cause – by competing in and winning, a high-stakes competition. As a result, Impact Club, through Impact Venture Capitalism, has dramatically multiplied the Impact that a single person can have on charities in their local community.
The Charities
L.I.F.E. Food Pantry serves clients of the Loveland School District and members of supporting congregations. Approximately 500 people receive assistance monthly; a week’s food is given each time, based on family size. Clients choose items from a grocery list updated daily. The Pantry is too small to be a “choice” pantry, meaning they would shop for themselves—instead, we fill the order. In addition, we provide Financial Assistance for rent, utilities, and medical bills/prescriptions; maximum $200 yearly. A hand up, not a hand out.
CancerFree KIDS was born in 2002 by Sam and Ellen Flannery after their 5 month old baby was diagnosed with cancer. Not being able to find an organization that meets the need of funding research so that new, gentler treatments are developed, they decided to start their own. On their daughter’s 1st day of kindergarten, CancerFree KIDS was started. The mission of CancerFree KIDS is to eradicate cancer as a life-threatening disease in children by funding promising research that may otherwise go unfunded.
Our charitable event ties directly into Conquer Chiari. We strive each year to educate as many people as we can about Chiari Malformation. Each year, all of the money raised is donated to conquer chiari, where the money is used towards education, research and awareness programs dedicated to help those who are affected by Arnold Chiari malformation. Though a permanent, less risky procedure to lessen the affects of Chiari has yet to be found, our goal is to hopefully find a way to diagnose earlier and better treat people with chiari.
