Through Impact Club, as Impact Venture Capitalists, we invest heavily in local charities that demonstrate a powerful “Story Engine,” and have proven their willingness to fight for their cause – by competing in and winning a high-stakes competition. As a result, Impact Club, through Impact Venture Capitalism has dramatically multiplied the Impact that a single person can have on charities in their local community.
The Charities
Childhood cancer is the #1 cause of death by disease for kids in the U.S., and the incidence of childhood cancer continues to rise. Journey4ACure is a small pediatric cancer organization, all volunteer with no paid employees, with a mission to support: 1. Research – We support Dr. Michael Jensen’s immunotherapy research at Seattle Children’s Hospital. This research has a goal to provide less invasive, less harmful treatments for children battling cancer. 2. Kids – We aim to enhance the lives of kids battling cancer through our iPad program.
Carried To Full Term is a nonprofit organization created to provide long-term residential support to mothers in crisis as a result of pregnancy. Our Program is designed to provide housing to mothers for up to 24 months in a very structured setting. Mothers will be responsible for maintaining the home, caring for their children, securing and retaining employment, completing their education, and participating in our program with the primary goal being self-sufficiency and independence.
LVA-PW is an award winning adult literacy non-profit that has a profound return on impact that has positively affected over 8,500 adults and 35,000 family members. Our mission is to teach adults the life-changing skills of reading, writing, and speaking English that will enable them to participate and prosper in our society. The majority of our adults (96%) are second language learners from over 100 countries who need basic to advanced life-skills English to support their families, help their children succeed in school and become self-sufficient, with a 30% increase in refugee families in the past two years.
