Fox Cities: Donates $9,000
Through Impact Club, as Impact Venture Capitalists, we invest heavily in local charities that demonstrate a powerful “Story Engine,” and have proven their willingness to fight for their cause – by competing in and winning a high-stakes competition. As a result, Impact Club, through Impact Venture Capitalism has dramatically multiplied the Impact that a single person can have on charities in their local community.
The Charities
Jake’s Diapers is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing the basic need of diapers to babies, children, and adults in extreme poverty, whose caregivers have to choose between food and diapers. Diaper need is a common yet often overlooked issue, affecting 1 in 3 Wisconsin families. There are no government assistance programs like WIC or food stamps that cover diapers. The impact of an inadequate diaper supply is devastating both emotionally and physically for caregiver and child.
The Flannel Check Campaign is a unique and impactful health awareness campaign designed to engage our community on the importance of early detection and screening for all diseases and cancer, to fight/cure diseases early. Almost every disease/cancer has its own ribbon color; Breast Cancer – Pink, Prostate Cancer – Blue, Heart Disease – Red, and so on. A flannel or plaid shirt incorporates every disease state color and the importance of early detection, screening and taking a proactive approach to your health.
The Music Mission provides new and used instruments to children with families who are struggling and to the organizations who are helping these families, along with providing beginner lessons. Although our goal to find these children remains locally in our community, we have helped children as far as Cambodia. The Music Mission was founded by Leah Witthuhn as a high school sophomore in 2014 and has since rounded up thousands of dollars worth of donated instruments, donated thousands of dollars in instruments out to children.
