Temecula Donates $10900.00
Through ImpactClub®, as Impact Venture Capitalists, we invest heavily in local charities that demonstrate a powerful “Story Engine” and have proven their willingness to fight for their cause – by competing in and winning a high-stakes competition. As a result, ImpactClub®, through Impact Venture Capitalism, has dramatically multiplied the Impact that a single person can have on charities in their local community.
The Charities
Michelle’s Place is a local resource center for families dealing with cancer and was created in 2001 as a dying wish of Michelle Watson: a 26-year-old victim of breast cancer. As a Temecula resident, Michelle was frustrated with the lack of resources available to her while facing the challenges of cancer treatment. She wanted to create a place where other women and families facing breast cancer could go to find comfort, resources, and information. 17 years later, we’ve provided over 150,000 free resources to women and their families. These resources include free wigs, prosthesis, bras, hats, scarves and support groups. Michelle’s Place has five patient navigators that provide support and guidance through the treatment process, including helping women with symptoms of breast cancer navigate breast screenings, diagnostic imaging and/or biopsies. We also have a lending library, and a survivor telephone support system that provides newly diagnosed women and their families with a source of answers to their questions, comfort and insight into their new diagnosis. Other services include temporary financial assistance to women going through treatment, and monthly educational seminars on nutrition, breast health, breast cancer prevention, exercise, stress relief and methods to help in the healing process.
Charity for Charity is a wish fulfilling organization, fulfilling wishes to individuals with life threatening illness or traumatic injury. Each year, Charity for Charity selects 3 main beneficiaries, a child, young adult and adult. In February, we host a large golden globes style event at Pechanga where we present our beneficiaries with their wishes in front of 500 of our supporters. Some of the wishes we have granted include: mechanical hands and swimming legs to Amy, a quadruple amputee, a trip to Paris for our young adult Kassidy who suffered a brain Aneurysm at the age of 13, Tristan, our child beneficiary who suffered (and later passed away) was sent to New York for a Jets game complete with a coaches suite, field passes and meet and greet. Smaller wishes include brightening someone’s day with a budget of balloons to their hospital room, Uber gift cards to individuals who are unable to drive and throwing a princess themed birthday party for a little girl whose family couldn’t afford the expense. In total, Charity for Charity has granted approximately. 500 wishes and we are still going strong.
We believe animals are living, breathing, beautiful beings who are someone, not “something”. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and educate on their behalf while promoting a cruelty-free lifestyle. We are a non-profit sanctuary offering rescue and refuge to babies discarded by our food industry, specifically dairy and hospice to senior horses and those with medical needs. Once healed and healthy we connect our animals and their stories to help the children in our community to heal. We believe bringing awareness to the plight of factory farmed animals will help create a more compassionate and kinder world for all beings.
