Washington Hospital Healthcare Foundation

Since 1958, Washington Hospital Healthcare System has been providing for the healthcare needs of residents in the Tri City area including Fremont, Union City, Newark, southern Hayward and unincorporated Sunol. Over the years, we have grown into a major provider. We pride ourselves in being tuned into community need and adapting services to care for our population. Washington on Wheels mobile clinic is one example of how we care for our residents. This program removes the obstacle of transportation for our low-income patients by bringing services to various locations. Low-income patients are often vulnerable to health disparities given lack of access to affordable healthy food, preventative health care, language barriers, unstable housing and more. The care offered by Washington on Wheels provides specialized care for chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, asthma, diabetes and more. Families access information about available resources for programs such as food stamps, housing programs and more. Washington on Wheels has been serving our community since 1995.
