The Yuma Community Food Bank
The Yuma Community Food Bank plays an important role in Yuma County as a distribution hub, providing food, at no cost, to nonprofits such as Adventist, SafeHouse, Salvation Army, Crossroads Mission, Hospice of Yuma, Amberly’s Place, Healing Journey and 10 other agencies; as well as, directly distributing to families at 23 sites throughout the counties. With over 100,000 sf of warehouse, 5000 sf of cooler and 1200 sf of freezer we provide an anchor for food safety to our agencies and partners. Those that come to us at a time in their lives when they are most vulnerable. We serve over 200,000 families every year with 8 million pounds of food that includes fresh produce. A source of nutrition that they may not be able to buy due to their circumstances. When you are faced with a choice of paying your rent or buying food, you pay your rent and whatever is left you buy what you can afford. That is how we help gap those nutritional deficiencies. Our mission is to provide you with food to help in an emergency or help you find the resources you need to get back on your feet. Your donation of food, money or your valuable time is what makes it all work. We cannot do our job without your help. When you donate to the Food Bank, we are a conduit into the community.
