The Chance For Hope Foundation
Andrea and Scott Davidson founded the Chance for Hope Foundation in 2014 to honor the legacy of their son Chance, a kind-hearted and courageous thirteen-year-old boy who passed away on October 14, 2013, after a 15-month battle against brain cancer. Through the Chance for Hope Foundation and its many good works, Chance continues to touch and brighten the lives of others. The Foundation’s mission is to provide support services for children with cancer and their families, funding for pediatric cancer research and treatment, and educational resources to the general public regarding pediatric cancer. The centerpiece of the Foundation’s support services mission is the Chance for Hope Residence Program, featuring fully- furnished apartments offered at no cost to children and their families traveling to the Texas Medical Center for pediatric cancer treatment. The Chance for Hope Foundation also provides meal deliveries to families at Texas Children’s Hospital and conducts an annual gift card drive for children in treatment to purchase back to school supplies. The Foundation also funds and monitors research initiatives designed to improve treatment protocols and ultimately find a cure for childhood cancer, with a focus on brain and other central nervous system tumors, which are now the deadliest form of cancer in children.
