Putnam County Habitat for Humanity
Putnam County Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit Christian housing ministry that builds simple, decent and affordable homes. Habitat families help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Utilizing the strength of the local community (churches, businesses and individuals), Habitat is able to provide housing solutions that meet the needs of low-income homeowners. PCHFH has recently expanded in Overton County with a repair program called Neighbor 2 Neighbor. N2N is for residents of Putnam and Overton counties who need repairs done to a home that they currently own and live in. The focus is on low-income elderly, disabled, veterans and existing PCHFH homeowners, although other applicants will be considered. The Habitat ReStore is another way you provide funding to support the ministry. Located at 728 E. 15th St., the ReStore accepts gently used donations of household goods, building supplies and furniture. Drop off donations or SHOP Wednesday – Friday 10 am – 5pm and Saturday 9 am – 2pm. For pickup of large donation items call 931-528-1709.
