Phil’s Friends
Phil’s Friends is a non profit faith based organization that sends and delivers care packages to cancer patients at home and hospitals all across the country. Once they receive a care package the patient begins to receive monthly Cards of Hope, we support over 14,000 patients on a monthly basis. All our care packages and Cards of Hope are hand decorated, assembled and items donated by volunteers of all ages. Founder Phil Zielke is a two time cancer survivor. He was first diagnosed at the age of 22 with stage 4 B Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and the cancer came back at age 24. Phil is now 12 years cancer free. Phil identified, through his own journey, the need for a faith-based outreach program that would provide hope and support to those affected by cancer and felt called to create Phil’s Friends. At this time there are two Hope Center locations Roselle, Illinois and Crown Point, Indiana with hopes of being able to open others nationwide. With 19 million people expected to be living beyond a cancer diagnosis by 2024 and 1.7 million new cancer patients each year, cancer touches us all and no one should have to face it alone.
