LEAP Charities
LEAP is a Boise-based nonprofit that assists community members in need of affordable housing through innovative, new programs/projects. LEAP has four programs aimed at helping an individual anywhere on the housing stability spectrum: Welcome Housing, Yes You Can, ROC and Development. The Welcome Housing program owns three condominium units on Curtis Ave. in Boise, providing cozy, affordable, and furnished housing units to refugee families. LEAP aims to provide a better beginning for newly arrived refugees in Boise through housing and hospitality. The Yes You Can program assists cost-burdened renters overcome barriers to homeownership through connection to homebuyer education, credit counseling, debt reduction services, and down payment assistance. LEAP ROC (Resident-Owned Community) is the Idaho affiliate of ROC USA and focuses on assisting mobile home communities to cooperatively own their land. ROC recently successfully helped Pleasant View Manor residents become the first resident-owned Community in Idaho. Windy Court is LEAP’s first development and Idaho’s first housing community made from up-cycled shipping containers. These 4 bedrooms, 2 bathroom, units serve extremely low income households. Four more units are nearing completion next door to the original WIndy Court development.
