CancerFree Kids
CancerFree KIDS is a nonprofit organization that does one thing. We fund pediatric cancer research so all kids have a chance to grow up. After realizing the severe underfunding that exist in the area of treating children with cancer, CancerFree KIDS was born in 2002 by Sam and Ellen Flannery after their 5 month old baby was diagnosed with cancer. Not being able to find an organization that meets the need of funding research so that new, gentler treatments are developed, they decided to start their own. On their daughters 1st day of kindergarten, CancerFree KIDS was started. The mission of CancerFree KIDS is to eradicate cancer as a life-threatening disease in children by funding promising research that may otherwise go unfunded.
