Project Horse Empowerment Center
Project Horse Empowerment Center is a non-profit that delivers outstanding mental health and wellness services by connecting children, teens and adults with therapy horses in order to build coping skills, deal with emotional, behavioral, or cognitive challenges, manage stress and enhance resiliency. Project Horse was founded in 2008, in partnership with a rescue horse who could no longer be ridden but still had much to teach about hope and healing. Over the past 11 years, Project Horse and its herd of rehabilitated rescue horses have helped thousands of individuals and their families. Our highly qualified mental health professionals use evidence-based approaches for wellness, prevention, and crisis intervention, tailored to the specific needs of our clients and equine partners. From veterans with PTS, to adolescents experiencing suicidal ideation, to women who are survivors of abuse, to foster children with early childhood trauma, we focus on high-risk segments of the population who benefit most from non-traditional approaches. Our equine assisted programs help clients build coping skills, deal with emotional, behavioral, or cognitive challenges, manage stress, and enhance resiliency.
