Through ImpactClub®, as Impact Venture Capitalists, we invest heavily in local charities that demonstrate a powerful “Story Engine” and have proven their willingness to fight for their cause – by competing in and winning a high-stakes competition. As a result, ImpactClub®, through Impact Venture Capitalism, has dramatically multiplied the Impact that a single person can have on charities in their local community.
The Charities
Change In Action Inc is an intervention service. Our mission is to promote safe and stable violence-free lives by teaching skills, modeling accountability, educating on the health consequences of exposure to trauma, and supporting individuals and families through the process of change to enhance personal well-being through the development of healthy relationships. Change in Action, Inc. values each individual as capable of change and strives to support those open and willing to work towards change in action, thought and belief. We work with Domestic Violence perpetrators after they have been arrested/charged with violence. Our goal is to stop domestic violence in our community by working directly with the violent offender. We believe by helping the perpetrator learn the skills needed to live free of violence and take accountability for their behaviors, we can save families from having to go through this again. We offer services to the entire family through our children’s program and Neurofeedback therapy to aid with relieving the stress from trauma in the household. We teach the skills needed to live a safe, violence-free lifestyle with the belief that even if a family chooses to separate, the perpetrator will not recommit violent acts in our community.
Manassas Hunger & Homeless Outreach (MH&HO) was conceived in the Summer of 2015. Our ministry stepped out in faith to perform a weekly outreach regardless of the weather and faithfully God met us by providing volunteers, donations, and partnerships. In the area of homelessness, we conduct weekly outreach to the unsheltered homeless community to grow and maintain personal relationships with those we serve in order to better enable us to learn their individual needs and craft strategies to assist them in their individual circumstances. These needs may be transitioning to stable housing, obtaining identification, pursuing employment opportunities, substance abuse treatment programs if needed, and many others. In the area of food insecurity and hunger, we conduct a free weekly Community Meal on Sundays. We also connect those we serve with local food pantries as well as hosting quarterly food drives to benefit smaller independent food pantries to help keep food on their shelves. In early 2018, MH&HO Ministries received its 501(c)(3) non-profit tax exemption status from the IRS. Our transformational Christ Centered programs touched many lives in 2018 and we grew both our board of directors and our church and ministry partners to a total of twenty-five (25) partners
PHILLIPS Programs is a private, nonprofit organization serving over 500 children annually and their families in the DMV. PHILLIPS serves the needs of individuals with emotional and behavioral health needs through education, family support services, community education, and advocacy. For 51 years, PHILLIPS has helped children where others could not prepare them to reach their potential and become productive young adults. PHILLIPS operates four schools, provides career and technical education programs, provides home-based and community-based family services and provides counseling, behavior management, life skills, reading, speech, occupational and physical therapies at all of our schools. Why are our program’s mission’s critical activities? Consider two alarming facts: 1 in 5 children ages 13-18 have, or will encounter a serious mental health challenge. 70% of youth in state and local juvenile justice systems have behavioral health needs. Consider the story of Jenny. Jenny, a Family Partners client who was struggling with self-harm, social anxiety, depression and aggressive tendencies with her family members adopted positive coping strategies, better managed her depression and anxiety and utilized effective communication skills at home. Thanks to intensive home-based services combined with support from her school and family, she graduated!
