Centro De Servicios
Centro de Servicios was established during some of the most tumultuous and unjust time periods in Union City’s history. Initially its focus was to provide legal aid, immigration assistance, and food to the sorely underserved Latino community. As the need grew, Centro fanned out to all people in need regardless of their heritage, nationality, race, color, creed, religion, or sexual orientation. Centro de Servicios is now the oldest non-profit social services agency in Alameda County’s TriCity Area. Centro is the sole provider of social services to low-income residents of Union City. Now celebrating 43 years of operation, our bilingual staff services over 2000 families and individuals per month. Our mission is to help poor and low income families and individuals secure their immediate and basic needs and rights, retain their pride and dignity, and become self-sufficient and productive members of the community. Although it seems like we are large organization, don’t let our amount of work fool you. We are a still small “Grass Roots” organization, always in need of funds to make sure the people of Union City do not go without. The more we are able to get, the more we are able to provide.
