HERS Breast Cancer Foundation
2018 marks a tremendous milestone for HERS Breast Cancer Foundation – our 20th anniversary of community service. Established by a team of dynamic women – a breast health consultant, a fundraising executive, and a tax consultant who was a breast cancer survivor – their motivation was concern for individuals with breast cancer, the disease risks, and the lack of specific support services. Two decades later, we continue to fulfill the HERS mission: to support all individuals healing from breast cancer by providing post-surgical products and services, regardless of their financial status. We do this through three Assistance Programs: WE Support, YOU Survive, our Lymphedema Project, and Hair with Care. In 2017 our expert, compassionate team served over 2600 patients and provided $100,000 in products (bras, prostheses, compression garments, and more) to those in need. And so that patients may concentrate on what matters most – their recovery and wellness – we handle medical billing for them. HERS is an accredited orthotics organization; HERS Breast Care Specialists each receive a minimum of 250 hours of training and serve patients via two locations: Fremont and Pleasanton. HERS stands for Hope, Empowerment, Renewal, and Support – the feelings we strive to restore in our patients every day.
