The Humane Society of Hobart, Inc.
The Humane Society of Hobart, Inc. has been providing animal welfare services to the people and animals in Lake and Porter Counties since 1954. Our mission is to shelter, rescue, and protect God’s creatures from abuse, injury, and mistreatment and to insure their future into loving homes. To neuter all animals and to educate the public on animal welfare preventing cruelty and abandonment of all animals. In addition to taking in stray and owned animals from the public, we also provide sheltering services for the cities of Hobart, Lake Station and New Chicago. We accept dogs, cats, small mammals and birds. We are a private humane society that relies on donations from our supporters, small grants and bequests to meet the continuous needs of our animals. In 2017, the Humane Society of Hobart cared for almost 2200 animals.
