New Haven Schools Foundation

Our children are our future, and education is critical to their success. The New Haven Schools Foundation is an independent nonprofit that makes academic improvements possible in our schools. School budgets are tight in California, and in our community, household budgets are not such that parents can supplement all the student needs in our schools. We manage a community-based scholarship program that provided $155,000 in financial aid for local students in 2019. We work with teachers to provide innovative teaching programs in their classrooms that improve literacy, STEM education, the arts, and other academic areas. We also raise funds to cover general services in our schools, such as funding school nursing needs or building out community gardens that provide healthy food. Our goal is to help prepare local students, many of whom are financially disadvantaged, for higher education and good jobs.
