Our Story

Y STEM and Chess Inc. in Idaho is federally tax-exempt nonprofit. YSC is a means of empowering the most underserved while providing inclusivity lowering the job shortage and reducing poverty. We are a STEM foundation that is a technology-based mastery learning system. Our Mission is to provide free classes in Math, Coding, and Chess to underserved children. We also plan to take all girls regardless of their socioeconomic status. We will also provide financial support to further develop their skills. Such support will include but not be limited to covering the cost of all college computer courses, providing devices and Internet Access for them to learn and use, and offering mentoring services to get into the industry. We have 4 schools signed up in the Boise School District and West Ada District. They are Hillcrest, South Jr, Grace Jordan and Meridian Academy. Additionally, we are teaching a class at the Boys and Girls Club along with Boise Rescue Mission. We have about 400 students on a waitlist and entire school districts that want to join our program. The program will eventually be moved online to better accommodate rural students and inner-city students across the Nation.
