Our Story

Voices for Children provides life-altering advocacy for children in foster care who have been abused and neglected. We match highly-trained volunteer CASAs (Court Appointed Special Advocates) with a single child or sibling group to give them a chance for a better future. This one-on-one relationship can ensure that kids like Max receive the therapy needed to cope with the trauma he has endured, that teenager Emilia has an adult in her life who will always be there for her when being a teenager is overwhelming, and that 8-year-old Ana gets glasses so she can see the lessons in school. In addition to this important advocacy, CASAs plan enriching activities that allow their case children to experience the joys of childhood, perhaps for the first time. As the only organization authorized by the Superior Court to support and train Riverside County CASAs for children in foster care, our CASAs are appointed by judges to build relationships with boys and girls who have been abused and neglected. The relationships they build position them well to advocate for their case child’s best interests and to share critical information with the court, social workers, schools and others responsible for their care. Voices for Children has been serving Riverside County since 2015. Since that time, our program has grown from serving 120 children in 2016 to exceeding our 2018 goal of serving 350 children. We are on track to meet this year’s goal of serving 410 children. The Riverside County program has offices in Murrieta, Riverside, and Palm Desert which allow us to serve the entire county.
