Voices for Children is the only organization authorized by the Superior Court to support and train Riverside County CASAs (Court Appointed Special Advocates) for children in foster care. Our CASAs are volunteer advocates who are appointed by judges to build relationships with boys and girls who have been abused and neglected. The relationships they build position them well to advocate for their case child’s best interests and to share critical information with the court, social workers, schools and others responsible for their care. This one-on-one relationship has been shown to result in better outcomes for our youth. In addition to this important advocacy, CASAs plan enriching activities that allow their case children to experience the joys of childhood, perhaps for the first time. Voices for Children has been serving Riverside County since 2015 and San Diego County since 1980. Since 2015, the Riverside County program has experienced year-over-year growth. In the last fiscal year ending June 30, 2018, we exceeded our goal of serving 350 children. Our goal for this year is to serve 410 children. The Riverside County program has offices in Murrieta, Riverside, and Palm Desert which allow us to serve the entire county.
