Our Story
Since 2013, we have led the effort to make sure the children in our community’s most vulnerable populations don’t fall through the cracks. The Learning and Language Center at Calico was founded by Speech and Language Pathologists and Early Intervention Specialists who wanted to create a program of excellence for all children to succeed in the future. Believing that early intervention is the key to future academic, social, and personal success for children, the founders decided to offer a program that serves the most vulnerable populations: low income, refugee, hearing impaired, under-served, under-insured, at risk, and special needs. We provide year-round speech/language therapy, occupational therapy, social skills, and academic readiness groups to prepare young children, ages 18 months to 6 years, to participate at a level commensurate to their peers when they enter Kindergarten. We are committed to creating lasting change for Treasure Valley families by improving the lives of all children through communication and education.
