Our Story
The Arc of Ventura County was established in 1954 by a group of parents dedicated to one purpose – to improve the quality of life for their children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Over 60 years have passed and our vision remains the same: all people with I/DD have the opportunity to choose and realize their goals of where and how they live, learn, work and play. Today, we serve over 700 adults in programs throughout Ventura County that teach informed decision making, offer opportunities to participate and contribute in the community, and encourage self-advocacy and empowerment to live a full, independent, and valued life. Our tagline says it all; Achieve with us!
