Our Story

ShelterCare provides housing and behavioral health services to the most vulnerable of Eugene/Springfield’s population, including individuals experiencing homelessness with medical fragility and/or serious mental illness along with families who are at risk of or are currently experiencing homelessness. We believe in Housing First and wrap-around services to best provide support for the individual to work towards their own goals of independence and stability. We also operate the only medical recuperation for homeless individuals exiting the hospital and in need of a healing space and the only Adult Day Center that accepts Medicaid in the entire county. ShelterCare has existed in this community since 1970 and continues to grow and adapt to meet the needs of this community.
