Our Story

Ophelia’s Place is a prevention based organization dedicated to helping girls ages 10-18 make healthy life choices through empowerment, education and support. Ophelia’s Place was created in 2005 in Eugene with the vision to provide a safe place where a girl could talk with a trusted adult. From these simple beginnings we have blossomed into a community-supported agency providing a dynamic range of services to empower youth. Our agency-based services include after-school drop-in, skill-building classes, individual/family therapy, and parent education sessions and referral services. In addition to the resources we provide for girls at our agency locations, a large number of our programs are conducted in partnership with schools. Our school-based activities include: girls’ empowerment groups, individual/group therapy, classroom presentations for boys and girls, school staff training’s and referral services. Through these programs we serve over 250 girls every month and provide classroom presentations that reach approximately 8,000 elementary, middle and high school students per year.
