Our Story
IICACC was established approx. 5 yrs. ago as a community based non-profit after originally being started by two Boise Police Department detectives responsible for investigating Internet crimes against children. A Board of Directors made up of concerned and dedicated community members was subsequently established and a strategy for community education and awareness, as well as fund raising to support this effort, was begun. Since that time the Coalition has made over 100 presentations throughout Idaho focused on Internet Child Pornography, Internet Child Predators, Sexting and Cyber bullying. These included over 2500 attendees at schools, service organizations, churches as well as Community Adult Education classes. IICACC has also purchased needed computer hardware & software for law enforcement agencies requesting such technology. Such continuing State of the Art technology is needed in order to continue to successfully investigate and arrest perpetrators. These items are “loaned’ indefinitely to the agencies when their budgets prevent such purchases. IICACC is associated with the State’s Attorney General’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, the Boise Police Department, The Idaho State Police Cyber Crimes Unit and the Federal Prosecutors office responsible for prosecuting such cases on a Federal level.
