Our Story
Camp Rainbow Gold’s (CRG) mission is to provide emotionally empowering experiences to Idaho’s children diagnosed with cancer and their families, all at no cost to the families. What makes us unique is that cancer may be the thread that ties us together, but it does not define us. Our approach to serving these children comes from a place of love, hope, and family. What we do is more than just a camp experience, it is something that becomes part of the fabric of their lives. And because cancer is a diagnosis that stays with a family much longer than just the years of treatment, so do our programs. One of our important programs is a camp designed specifically for the siblings. Cancer is a disease that affects the entire family and siblings are often left with insufficient support, need to know that they are not alone, that they are not at fault and that their feelings are valid. The stress and emotional toll of living with a sick child can often lead to a different set of issues for the siblings, from rebellion and acting out to substance abuse and depression.
