Our Story

All About Rescue and Fixin’ Inc. (AARF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization formed by a small group of volunteers with a passion for animals. They are a foster based animal rescue organization based in the Upper Cumberland region of Tennessee. They pull animals from high risk situations, such as local animal shelters, and strays from counties who do not have the luxury of having an animal shelter. Dog and cats are fostered in volunteer foster homes until they are adopted. In addition to their adoption program, AARF works closely with several local animal shelters to ensure that animals are not euthanized for space. In 2012, they started the AARF ‘freedom ride’ transport program which moves animals from our overcrowded shelters to their no-kill shelter partners in the North, where these unwanted dogs and cats will be quickly adopted. Volunteers drive the brightly wrapped rescue transport vehicle on their ‘freedom rides’ and deliver these pets to facilities where they are guaranteed to find homes. Since being founded in 2007, AARF has saved the lives of nearly 12,000 pets.
